"Coffee and Climate" meetings held monthly Featured

BELFAST - Residents in the Belfast area met Wednesday night for coffee and a chance to chat about climate change.

"Maine Conservation Voters" hosted their first discussion meeting of the year at the Belfast Co-op.

Discussions ranged from frustrations with government's efforts, to talking about the best ways to make an impact as citizens.

Maine Conservation Voters advocacy coordinator Stephanie Miles said "We're doing one in Lewiston, one in Augusta, but we've been doing the one in Belfast for about a year now. It's just a really great chance for community members to talk about environmental issues they care about and take action on them."

There's more than just coffee in the works, including an upcoming movie screening.

If interested in being a part of the discussion the group meets bi-weekly.
