Meeting on future Belfast aquafarm planned

BELFAST - People interested in a company that plans to create lots of jobs in Belfast have a chance to learn more about the project.

City officials and people with Nordic Aquafarms of Norway will be holding an informational meeting tonight.


The company announced it plans to build a 40 acre salmon farm as part of a $150 million investment.


More than 100 people will be hired to run the operation.


Tonight's meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hutchinson Center on Belmont Avenue.


It's not a hearing and no votes will be taken. Just a chance for people to learn more about the business and to ask questions.
