A judge is expected to announce her decision Thursday morning in the trial of Phillip Fournier, 57.
The East Millinocket man is accused of murdering Joyce McLain, 16, in 1980.
During his trial, prosecutors said Fournier confessed several times, but the defense said those confessions should be disregarded because of a brain injury Fournier suffered after the alleged killing.
Fournier waved his right to a jury trial and has left it up to a judge to deliver a verdict.
That will happen at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Penobscot Judicial Center.
