ELLSWORTH - An accused rapist who became the subject of a police search will make his first court appearance this afternoon.

Robert Boggia, 32, of Whiting is charged with gross sexual assault, robbery, domestic violence and other charges.

Police turned to the public for help finding him last week after Boggia managed to elude capture for three days.

He was finally found Friday at his girlfriends home in the Trescott area of Lubec.

His girlfriend, Nicole Phinney, 45, was also arrested for giving him a place to stay and charged with hindering apprehension.

Police haven't released details about the allegations against Boggia.

More information should be revealed when he makes his first court appearance in a Hancock County courtroom at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
