Two people arrested in connection with a machete incident Featured

SULLIVAN - Two people are facing charges after a person was injured with a machete in Sullivan.

Authorities said Nathaniel Sargent, 29, of Sullivan and Lacretia Dieter, 21, of Ellsworth were staying at a residence on the Taunton Bay Road in Sullivan.


The homeowners told police they woke up around 4:30 a.m. Saturday and allegedly discovered the couple going through their belongings.


Police said an altercation followed, threats were made, and that's when Nathaniel Sargent allegedly injured one person with a machete.


Authorities stated Sargent and Dieter fled the home.


Maine State Police and Hancock County Sheriffs deputies found them in a camper on the Grange Hall Road in Sullivan.


Nathaniel Sargent is facing numerous charges including theft, assault with a dangerous weapon and terrorizing.


Lacretia Dieter is also facing numerous charges including theft and disorderly conduct.
