OGUNQUIT (WGME) - Vacancy on the hotel job front in Ogunquit. A labor shortage looms for Maine's popular summer season.

Allyson Cavaretta of the Meadowmere Resort in Ogunquit said she's in need of workers when the summer rolls around.

She said that she and many other Maine businesses have relied on the H-2B Visa which allows foreign nationals to temporarily work in the U.S.

She said that businesses are once again making a push for more visas and more relief around the program.

Allyson Cavaretta, The Meadowmere Resort, said "We need something along those lines of relief in order to make sure that the wheels keep turning. That people who use this program are able to capitalize on the summer season and reinvest in their businesses."

The Department of Labor will being releasing H-2B temporary labor certifications on February 20th.
