Body of Orono teen found in snowbank

ORONO - The body of a teenage woman was discovered in a snowbank Saturday morning, but police said her death is not considered suspicious.

Police say a person walking on Colburn Drive in noticed the body of Alexie Adams, 19, of Orono, in the snow around 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, Adams was with friends Friday night, visiting several locations around Orono and likely became separated from her friends later in the evening.

While foul play is not suspected, police believe her death is alcohol related. The state medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

Orono police are continuing to investigate with help from Maine State Police detectives. The public is urged to help police determine Adams' activities Friday night into Saturday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Nathan Drost at 866-4000.
