The city's ethics committee is investigating a controversy involving councilor Cary Weston.
Weston's marketing company had been doing some work for the Bangor Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He took part in a vote last June that allocated money to the bureau even though his company had been receiving payments from the bureau. That's against city rules.
Weston has since said it was a mistake and reported the conflict to city officials.
The case will be reviewed by the ethics committee Tuesday afternoon and Weston is expected to be among those there to explain the situation.
