Blanket drive hopefully will keep Bangor's homeless warm

BANGOR - With the January thaw now over, Temperatures are once again dipping below freezing.

And the Health Equity Alliance in Bangor wants to make sure we don't forget our neighbors don't have a place to get warm.

Heal will be holding a blanket and sleeping bag drive through the end of the month. You can donate new or gently used items at HEAL's office on 106 Pine Street in Bangor.

This is the first time the organization has done a drive like this.

HEAL director of development Andrea Littlefield said "Well it's cold outside, you know? And it had warmed up and gotten cold again, and we just thought it would be really helpful for folks that are in need that don't have a roof over their heads or don't have the comforts we have"

Donations will be distributed to those who need them on Friday February 2nd in Pickering Square.
