ELLSWORTH – For the first time wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves in Ellsworth for the holidays.
Thanks to generous donations more than 400 veterans will be honored with the wreaths.
A brief ceremony and 21 gun salute will occur before the wreath laying in Woodbine Cemetery on Saturday.
The ceremony and wreath laying will be very similar to the one that happens in Arlington each year to honor the fallen.
Organizer Marc Blanchette said “When they place them, they say their names out loud, that way the veteran is never ever forgotten.”
The ceremony will begin at noon everyone is invited to attend and remember those service men and women.
