The Franklin County Sheriff's Department said a deputy tried to stop a vehicle around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday after it was spotted traveling erratically.
They say a man later identified as Christopher Tracy, 24, refused to pull over. The chase continued until Tracy suddenly pulled into a driveway at such a high rate of speed that a tire came off the rim.
Deputies said Tracy bolted from the car and left his wife and children behind as he ran into some woods. He was eventually arrested and charged with operating after suspension, endangering the welfare of a child, failure to stop for an officer and driving to endanger.
