Public hearing Tuesday in Bar Harbor

BAR HARBOR - The town of Bar Harbor is trying to weigh it's options and make a decision on what to do with the former ferry terminal property.

"The Cat" used the terminal from 1997 to 2009.

The council is trying to decide if the town should buy the property from the state and if they do, how it should be used.

The Bar Harbor Ferry Terminal Property Advisory Committee is holding a public comment meeting Tuesday where they will evaluate four options including a pier for berthing cruise ships, a pier for tendering cruise ships, marine uses such as a marina and other options including what might happen if the town doesn't buy the property.

That meeting happens from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers.
