All pets adopted at Bangor Humane Society

BANGOR - It was nothing but empty crates today at the Bangor humane society.

In only an hour in a half they emptied their shelter. They did 27 adoptions today and 79 in the last three days. Some came for a preview, but ended up falling in love and bringing their new furry friend home.

Stacey Coventry the director of development and public relations said "It's pretty surreal we are so happy that so many of our fur babies are home tonight especially we had some long term residents. A dog named chopper had been with us for a long time, went to a new home today finally he's been waiting for months. He was adopted and returned a while back so he's had a long road."

There was over 200 people lined up some even camped out at midnight, but unfortunately not everyone who wanted a pet got a pet.

Shonna Narine joined the ABC7 and FOX22 team in August 2017. Originally from Long Island (although she hides her accent for TV) she's excited to see what Maine has to offer.

She graduated from Five Towns College in Dix Hills Long Island where she anchored for their TV Club, and had her own radio show called "All Access Entertainment."

She won an outstanding achievement award and graduated on the dean's list.

Prior to graduation Shonna interned at News12 Long Island.

Shonna comes from a big family. With three older sisters, her parents, and six nieces and nephews there's never a dull moment when she's around them. When she's not working she enjoys working out, dancing, spending time with her fiance, and planning her wedding! Shonna would love to hear if you have any story ideas.
