WATERVILLE - Last weekend kids in Waterville had the chance to meet their neighborhood first responders ...

Children heard "Otto Von Schnoodle's" newest story which is all about fire, police and rescue personnel.

The first 200 received a copy of Otto's newest book and met Otto in person!

Organizer Grace Birch stated "We are celebrating literacy, we are celebrating the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, and we are absolutely 100% celebrating our first responders, Maine's first responders and all the first responders across the United States."

There was a baseball clinic, a smoke trailer, helicopters and more.
