Alchohol said to be a factor in Dyer Brook crash

DYER BROOK - Two people were injured following a serious rollover crash in Dyer Brook. Police say alcohol was a factor.

It was around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when police say Michael Pelham, 52, of Oakfield was driving a sports car on Route 2.

They said he was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve and crossed into the other lane before becoming airborne and striking a utility pole.

That's when the vehicle began rolling over numerous times before coming to rest in a pasture.

Pelham wasn't wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

His passenger, Larry Hersey of Oakfield was wearing his seat belt and escaped with non life threatening injuries.

Pelham is now charged with operating under the influence and operating after suspension.
