MACHIAS – The Maine Seacoast Mission is hosting week-long camps during the month of July.
They’re part of the Ed Greaves Education Program which provides school and summer programs to kids from Gouldsboro to Machias.
Kids take part in various activities, including kayaking, kid’s kitchen and Lego robotics.
The camps were designed to help bridge the learning gap that takes place in the summer isn’t in session.
Director Charlie Harrington said “We think with the reading we do, the recipes we use, a lot of the opportunities around, the robots the computers, i think it really is a helpful piece of what we do for kids in the summer and for families].”
Over 150 children are taking part in camps across three locations Millbridge, Cherryfield and Machias.
