Localized flooding possible with Monday's storm

STATEWIDE - We're kicking off the workweek with gray conditions Monday.

In fact, it looks like some very stormy weather will be moving in later in the afternoon.

Storm clouds will roll into the state this afternoon, bringing very heavy rain and strong winds.

The National Weather Service has declared a flood watch for much of the state. From 2:00 p.m. into the evening, we can expect periods of showers and thunderstorms, mostly over the inland areas.

The state could receive up to two inches of rain and some localized flooding could happen.

People are encouraged to monitor the forecast and to avoid driving on any road that has been covered by water. One never knows if the roadway is still there when the water rolls through.
