HAMPDEN — Public safety officials are investigating a crash Thursday night that killed two people.
Hampden police, fire and EMS were called to the crash at the intersection of Main Road North and Coldbrook Road just before 10 p.m.
Public safety officials said a car driven by 37-year-old Laura Brissette of Hampden was turning left onto Main Road North from Coldbrook Road when another car heading south lost control on the crest of a hill and hit Brissette’s car.
The car heading south then went through a guardrail and into a nearby stream, where it was submerged in water for several hours before it was located.
Both 22-year-old Christian Broberg and 23-year-old Tyler Wheaton of Hampden were found dead in the water several hundred yards from the car.
Authorities are looking into the circumstances behind the crash.
