CHERRYFIELD – Two men are behind bars following a drug bust in Washington County.
According to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, 31-year-old Kevin Robinson of Cherryfield and 22-year-old Jean Carlos Mena–Vera of Ecuador are both charged with aggravated trafficking.
Tuesday morning, authorities searched Robinson’s residence on Parker Hill Road in Cherryfield.
There, they found heroin and cocaine with a combined street value of more than $6,000, as well as more than $11,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Police say at the time of the search, Mena–Vera was armed with a loaded handgun.
Drug agents had been investigating the two since June and had reportedly previously purchased drugs from suspects at that same residence.
Both were taken to the Washington County Jail.
