Female business owners join forces Featured

BANGOR - A unique event Wednesday brought the women of Bangor out to sample some wine, and do a little business.

The "Women and Wine" event brought folks to Bangor Wine and Cheese to, of course, sip some wine, but also buy goods from local entrepreneurs, and try food from the Brahma Grill next door.

And every business involved is owned and operated by women.

Bangor Wine and Cheese co-owner Christine Mihan said, "People are excited about it. It's fun to get different business owners together, and to work together, and to cross promote, market. You know, we're all in this together, especially the small business owners, so if we can help each other out in any way it's a win-win for everybody."

The event is free, but donations will be going to the Bangor Symphony Orchestra, which is getting set to perform its "Celebrating Women" concert, just in time for Mother's Day.
