BRUNSWICK – A man on the run for drug charges has been arrested after police said he was caught bringing more drugs in Maine.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents said they learned James Young-Dumont, 32, of Wilton was frequently traveling to Massachusetts to pick up shipments of heroin and fentanyl.
They and local police were waiting Tuesday afternoon when he arrived on an Amtrak train in Brunswick. They say he tried to flee, but was quickly arrested.
Authorities say they found 1200 doses of fentanyl in his pockets, worth more than $20,000 on the street.
In addition to the new trafficking charges, Young-Dumont was also wanted in Ellsworth for failing to appear in court for a previous drug offense. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Massachusetts for another drug arrest there.
He’s now being held without bail.
