BANGOR – Bangor police rushed to Ohio Street to respond to gunfire around 3:00 pm Sunday afternoon.
One person was shot, though police are not yet releasing information on how that person was shot, nor who is responsible.
There was a heavy police presence for hours in the neighborhood, shutting down Ohio Street between Charles Street and Highland Avenue.
“One victim has been transported to a local hospital.” Said Lieutenant David Bushey. “The scene remains active. A police canine unit has been called to the scene.”
The department’s “mobile investigation unit” was also on scene, as police extensively tried to piece together what happened.
Lieutenant Bushey added that initial information suggests the public is not at risk.
