BANGOR – Though the weather may not be causing spring fever, Bangor’s Eggstravaganza is bringing some life downtown.
Easter has arrived this year as hundreds of kids gathered downtown for some fun. The Eggstravaganza brought families downtown to enjoy all that local business have to offer.
“It really speaks to what small businesses provide for our community,” said Eliza Butler, the owner of Specialty Sweets, “We are here and local. We’re not some random people. We’re a part of that community.”
Whether it’s taking a free photo with the Easter Bunny or painting eggs, business owners connected with families by providing fun arts and craft.
“It brings people down to see what we offer as a downtown and there’s a lot of fun stuff down here,” said Butler.
While the event was hosted by Specialty Sweets, it was the collaborative effort from all local businesses to allow this to happen.
“It’s a great way to bring family and friends to come downtown and enjoy, again, all that downtown has to offer,” said Cheryl Michaud, the owner of West Market Square Artisan Cofffeehouse.
Local businesses are looking to continue this tradition in the future.
“Come downtown. There’s so much going on down here,” said Michaud, “We’re trying to put more and more things together all the time. There’s new businesses coming in all the time. It’s a nice vibrant little area.”
