OLD TOWN – Old Town is swimming with excitement as community members gather to hear information about local aquatic life.
Part of a monthly series, people of all ages come together to learn more about different fish found in the area.
“It’s just an opportunity for the public to come learn a little bit about what students at U-Maine are doing and learn a little bit about some of the life of the fishes in the Penobscot river,” said Berlynna Heres, a PhD student at the University of Maine.
“These fisheries have been real important for the state of Maine,” explains research assistant at the University of Maine, Alejandro Molina, “so having the community know about these fisheries is really important.
