BANGOR – Anybody who even looked outside Monday could tell they were better off staying inside.
They called it winter storm Orson. Others just called it awesome. No matter what it was called it brought much of the state to a standstill.
People prepared for this storm throughout the weekend.
“My daughter’s home. My wife’s in Florida. so I though we’d grab a few things so we don’t have to out,” said one local man.
Others made sure there was plenty of room for whatever the storm brought.
“Well, we shoveled our walkway and driveway already, so we can have more room for the fresh batch of snow,” said a local woman Saturday.
For the most part, fewer cars were on the roads, especially during he height of the storm. And, at it’s worst, thee were whiteout conditions.
“when you’re staring into a moving white sheet it wears on you,” said Dana Wardwell, Bangor public works director.
