BELFAST – A woman accused of killing her infant son last month in Troy is now a free woman.
Miranda Hopkins was released on bail this week and is being allowed to visit with her two other sons.
Hopkins was charged with murder last month after she called 911 to report she awoke to discover her baby had died.
Officials said the child died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.
However, a grand jury has since indicted her on the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Hopkins was released on $50,000 bail and has been ordered not to consume drugs or alcohol.
She’ll be back in court later this month for her arraignment on the manslaughter charge.
