OTTAWA, CANADA (ABC NEWS) – Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the deadly attack on the mosque in Quebec City was an act of terrorism.
Sunday, a gunman opened fire during evening prayers, killing six people. 13 people were injured. Five of them are in critical condition.
Trudeau addressed the more than one million Muslims who live in Canada, saying, “We are with you.”
The Prime Minister stated “36 million hearts are breaking with yours and know that we value you. You enrich our shared country in immeasurable ways, it is your home. Last night’s horrible crime against the Muslim community was an act of terror committed against Canada and against all Canadians. We will grieve with you, we will defend you, we will love you and we will stand with you.”
Police initially arrested two men. They now say only one of them is considered a suspect.
