GREENVILLE – It takes a skilled fisherman to catch a 20 lb togue, but according to the president of the Natural Resource Education Center, that’s what it took to win 1st prize at the annual togue derby.
This weekend marks the 10th Annual Togue Derby. The first prize winner gets $1,500 dollars for the biggest togue.
Door prizes will be given as well to everyone who buys a ticket.
The derby originally started to reduce the amount of lake trout in the Moosehead Lake, and since turned into a family fun event.
Organizers said if you’re participating to get out there early! The fish are distributed all around the lake, and wishes luck to everyone competing.
The Derby is this weekend and you can find out more by visiting their Facebook page.
