AUGUSTA – Thursday afternoon the “Save My Health Care Tour” continued its nationwide journey by stopping in Augusta.
A pair of Maine lawmakers, who are also veterans, pleaded with President Trump to make sure everyone will continue to have health care coverage before moving to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Senator Brownie Carson, D-Brunswick said, “Those of us who come back from any war know comrades who are suffering from PTSD, Who have depression, who have all kinds of issues. And if they don’t get medical care from the V.A. Because they’re not eligible, they need health insurance in order to take care of them.”
Carson was joined by Representative Jared Golden of Lewiston, who also urged that there needs to be an alternative plan before any effort to repeal Obamacare.
