WATERVILLE – Two men from Waterville have pleaded guilty to arson charges.
Zachary Casey, 22, and Alexis Casey, 25, are accused of burning a car in Madison in retaliation for the theft of marijuana plants.
Police said the brothers threw a molotov cocktail onto a vehicle belonging to a man whom they believed stole plants from a legal marijuana growing operation.
Fire crews managed to snuff out the flames in June before it destroyed an occupied apartment building that was nearby.
According to the Morning Sentinel, the reached a plea deal with prosecutors that calls for an 8 year prison sentence.
They’ll officially be sentenced and will begin serving their time on March 1st.
