YORK – Two lobster men are uninjured after being saved by the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard responded to a mayday call just after 3 p.m. on Friday about 17 miles off shore from York.
A 45 foot lobster boat was hit with a rogue wave and began to quickly sink. When crews arrived, the fishermen were in full survival gear and standing on the pilot house. They were forced to jump in the water to be pulled onto the Coast Guard’s boat.
Officers said they did everything they should have in the accident.
