STATEWIDE- The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has succeeded in expanding their study of moose in our state.
Biologists spent the week capturing and collaring 73 moose in two areas in northern Maine.
All captured moose were born last spring, with the number of total moose now reaching 162.
The study helps biologists track the movement of the moose, giving them a better idea of their population and factors that affect survival and reproduction.
This is the fourth year of the study.
