BUCKSPORT – Senators King and Collins had great news today for Bucksport.
They announced the Environmental Protection Agency is giving a $200,000 grant to the Eastern Maine Development Corporation. It will be used to help revitalize the town in the wake of the closure of the Verso Paper Mill. It will help fund a marketing study to evaluate possible uses for the 117 acre site.
As part of a brownfield site, the grant will also assist with the site clean-up of any hazardous materials to it can be used to spark economic activity.
