ELLSWORTH – A man who was involved in a tense police standoff in Ellsworth is heading to prison.
Jeffrey Barnard, 53, has been ordered to serve more than six years in prison.
Police were called to a property in Ellsworth in May of 2014 after Barnard got into a dispute with the property owner. He had barricaded himself inside a camper and was shot in the face by a state trooper when he came out and pointed a gun at police.
He later pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.
