BANGOR – Some curious kids are spending the last week of their school vacation learning about science.
The Challenger Learning Center in Bangor is hosting camps this week for children in grades k thru five.
There is a different science topic each day, and Wednesday’s is aquaculture.
A guest speaker from “Spring Works Farm” called in to tell the kids how they can use fish to sustain plant life anywhere, in any climate, even in space.
Sierra Kenkel, Spring Works Farm said “As the fish are producing the nutrients for the plants and while the plants are cleaning the water, you also, down the road, while the fish get big enough, will be able to harvest the fish and eat that as well.”
Camps for this week are booked full, but don’t worry The Challenger Center hosts more each school vacation. You can sign your child up at www.astronaut.org.
