BAR HARBOR – Work is about to begin on a heavily traveled road leading into Bar Harbor.
Workers have started placing signage on the section of Route 3 that will be reconstructed and improved over the next two and a half years. The five mile project carries a price tag of almost $18 million.
The Route 3 reconstruction project will continue year round until the spring of 2019 without a break during the summer and fall tourist seasons.
The Maine Department of Transportation plans to hold an open house on January 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bar Harbor town office to share information about the project.
