BANGOR – Winter weather wreaks havoc on roads and travel, and it also makes for some cold days when power goes out due to a storm.
This Christmas weekend saw more than 4,500 people without electricity. Emera spokeman Bob Potts said that wasn’t as bad as years past.
There are quite a few planned outages this week as well another large storm expected at the end of the week.
Potts added “This is a good week for us to do some of the maintenance work on our electrical systems. We have several planned outages happening this week. There’s one where we have to move some powerlines because a house is being moved. We have some maintenance work at a few other locations. But schools aren’t in session it’s a quieter time.”
Emera said preparing for the outages by having a secondary heat source or generator will certainly help. And to be sure to use any all resources according to manufacturer.
