WASHINGTON D.C. – A victory for those living with disabilities in the State of Maine.
The Social Security Administration ruled that those applying for Social Security Disability Insurance in the state will no longer have to wait for their benefits to take place.
Many suggestions from Senator Angus King played into the decision which will now reduce the wait times that currently prevent those with disabilities from supporting themselves while they can’t work.
King said it is unfair and wrong to make these people wait so long to figure out what benefits they are eligible for, especially while they are unable to earn an income.
