ORONO – The Emera Astronomy Center is taking a trip back 2,000 years to study the “Star of Bethlehem.”
“The Mystery of the Christmas Star” takes a look into the possibilities of what the Three Wise Men followed to find baby Jesus.
“The Christmas Star of course at the Christmas season is something people are very interested in by being able to take them back and show them some o f the things that were visible in the sky and what it might have been both scientific and historical perspective.” said Professor Shawn Laatsch.
The show explores possible dates for the birth of Jesus and bring a message of peace this holiday season. The showing is appropriate for all ages.
Another family friendly show explores the constellation Orion. Laatsch added “It looks at the famous consolation Orion the Hunter with it has some cartoon characters and it shares the all the magical stories with children and families of all ages.”
After the holiday season regular programming will continue every Friday and Sunday for the public.
