MILLINOCKET – The town of Millinocket transformed into a scene out of 1880’s London.
As a part of “A Christmas for Becky” a group of Katahdin Region actors gathered along Penobscot Avenue Saturday. Each one dressed in their finest Dicken’s attire.
They were performing “A Christmas Carol” in multiple spots throughout downtown Millinocket as onlookers followed along the street.
The Ghost of Christmas Present, portrayed by Nicholas Powers said “I thought it was really fun, it was an awesome experience, different acting on the street compared to the stage.”
With very little rehearsal prior to meeting to perform that day the show came off without a hitch and spectators even braved the cold to watch.
The actors enjoyed the day so much that the are already talking about their next street performance.
“Yes definitely, I think we are going to hopefully next year we can do something like this hopefully in warmer temperatures. But it was a good experience. It would be good to do again.” added Powers
