BRUNSWICK (WGME) – It’s official the Navy’s flight demonstration team, The Blue Angels,are returning to Maine.
Two of the Angels flew into Brunswick yesterday to meet and talk with air show organizers about “The Great State of Maine Air-Show” in August.
They arrived in Blue Angel #7, an F18 hornet, the signature fighter jet of the Blue Angels.
The show will be held August 26 and 27 of next year. The Angels have some new blood to show off next summer:
Lt. Brandon Hempler said “We have a great team this year .. Uhh ..we got a lot of new pilots .. Two new pilots in the diamond and they’re at home practicing right now, I know they’re getting ready. They’re getting ready for all the shows we have this summer.”
Tens of thousands of spectators come to the show to see the angels.
The show in August will be the Blue Angel’s only New England appearance in 2017.
