The weather destroyed dozens of structures. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to ABC News three fatalities after a tornado destroyed homes and businesses in the town of Rosalie. About 15 to 20 structures were destroyed. Another reported tornado wounded multiple people, including the four children in critical condition, after ripping through a 24-hour daycare near the town of Ider.
Also in the south, firefighters in Tennessee are still dealing with a massive wildfire in the eastern part of the state that has killed three people, burned hundreds of homes and forced thousands to evacuate. The blaze killed three people in Gatlinburg. There are still areas authorities are trying to reach and they are hoping there will not be more fatalities.
