OLD TOWN – The Animal Orphanage held its annual Black Saturday sale in Old Town today.
It gives this shopping season a more philanthropic theme as community members come out to shop for a great cause.
“They could come in with a dollar and go out with something that’s nice. Or they can come in, and a lot people do, they’ll buy something that’s maybe worth five or six dollars and give us ten,” said Roberta Fowler, member of the Animal Orphanage board, “You know, so a lot of people will pay more than what the item actually would be valued at but they know it’s going to a good cause.”
All donations at this event goes to providing food and shelter to the animals at the orphanage.
