HOLLIS – New details in the Tuesday night shooting in Hollis that sent one woman to the hospital.
State police said Andrea Richardson, 32, a mother of three, was shot five times outside her home on the River Road.
Her boyfriend Ryan Gilliken, 30, has now been charged with domestic assault and a second count of simple assault. State police believe Gilliken assaulted Richardson, as well Joshua Weldon, 30, who rented an apartment on the property.
They said Weldon fired the gun while trying to defend Richardson, but missed, hitting her in the stomach and leg. Richardson was taken to the Maine Medical Center in Portland.
Her mother said she’s shocked, but optimistic about her daughter’s recovery. Audrie Perez said “She’s doing good compared to what has happened to her. I mean, no vital organs were hit or anything like that.”
Gilliken is being held at the York County Jail.
At this point no charges are being filed against Weldon.
