Old Town student is honored for his charitible efforts

OLD TOWN - Hard work seems to be paying off for an Old Town High School student who's been giving back to his community.

 

17-year-old Connor Archer has been named as one of the state's winners of the "Prudential Spirit of Community Awards". It recognizes top high school and middle school level volunteers in each state for their contribution and community service.

 

 

Archer lives with autism and founded "The Courageous Steps Project" 3 years ago, raising awareness for those living with disabilities. He has raised an donated more than 10,000 dollars to programs in Orono and Old Town that helped him.

 

 

Connor will receive a silver medallion, 1,000 dollars, and an all-expense trip to Washington, D.C. For national recognition events in the spring.
