Bangor City Council Approves Babe the Blue Ox Design

Bangor City Council Approves Babe the Blue Ox Design
0shares

BANGOR – Plans to build “Babe the Blue Ox” statue in Bangor continues to move forward!

During last night’s meeting, the city council approved the conceptual design in a seven to one vote. The plan is to build the 17-foot, “Babe the Blue Ox” statue, next to Paul Bunyan on Main Street.

Builders estimate, construction will cost up to $200,000 dollars. However, supporters say all funding will come from private donations.

Councilor Ben Sprague says he’s excited to see the project move forward.

The approval process now moves on to a detailed design phase. A committee must first approve those plans before its brought back to the council.

Supporters hope to begin construction next summer.
