Last Weeks Deadly Fire in Hermon has Inspired a Local Business to Take Action

Written by

BREWER - Darling's Insurance Agency in Brewer will hold a fire safety and touch a truck event next week.

It's a chance for children to check out some cool fire trucks and for families to get free smoke detectors. The Darling's Ice Cream truck will also be there.

All the donations given in exchange for the ice cream will be given to the family that lost a nine year old boy when the fire erupted on Tuesday.

"It's important to me personally. I'm an insurance agent and see things like this all the time. They don't have proper coverage. So it's important that we educate them to get working smoke detectors and make sure everyone is safe." Kristen Carreira, Darling's Insurance

It will all take place Tuesday at Darlings Insurance on Parkway South in Brewer. That's almost directly across from Brewer High School.

It will be held from 5:30 until 7:30.
