Democrat Jonathan Fulford launched his campaign Wednesday, challenging Republican Bruce Poliquin at the end of his two-year term next fall.
Fulford boasts himself as a business owner and wants to provide livable wages and healthcare for all Americans. He stated "It's time for universal health care, we have been needing to do that since Frances 1933. That will really be good for all rural Maine."
Fulford is a small business owner and over the years has created hundreds of jobs that have supported working families in Maine.
In other election news, the list of gubernatorial candidates continues to grow. Former Cumberland County Sheriff and current state senator, Mark Dion has filed paperwork to enter the race as a democrat.
