Knitting Social @ Brewer Public Library (Fri. 16 Feb, 2018 9:30 am - 11:00 am)

Steelworkers Union Hall Blood Drive (Fri. 16 Feb, 2018 12:00 pm - 12:05 pm)

American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at the Skowhegan Community Steelworkers Union Hall on Feburay 16th from 12:00PM to 5:00PM.  To set up an appointment you can call us at 1-800-RedCross or on our website at redcross.org.

To Sew A Home (Fri. 16 Feb, 2018 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

'To Sew a Home' is an art residency featuring the work of Maya Critchfield ('16) in the Ethel H. Blum Gallery at College of the Atlantic. During her residency Critchfield will collect and piece together vintage fabric and household linens to create a sewn structure, or "home" within the gallery. The work is the artist's personal meditation on clothing, cloth, and home. Visitors are welcome to come by during open studio hours to watch the structure take shape. A reception will be held Friday, February 16th at 5pm in the gallery. 'To Sew a Home' take place Monday February 12th - Saturday the 17th. Franklin Veterans Club (Fri. 16 Feb, 2018 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Friday's February 9th, 16th, and 23rd are $5 Friday's.  A hot meal at 5pm for just $5 bucks.    Jukebox, games including shuffleboard, pool, darts, cribbage or bring your own and get a game started.   There are also music enthusiasts that bring their instruments and jam in our new music room.    This is becoming a popular Friday night stop for many folks.   Family friendly until 7pm.

Verse Unleashed! Poetry Slam (Fri. 16 Feb, 2018 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm)

Calling all poets and lovers of verse, stop by the Jesup Memorial Library on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. for the Jesup’s Verse Unleashed! Poetry Slam to share your poetry or a piece of poetry that inspires you. Whether it’s a haiku, ode, sonnet or free verse, a finished piece or just something you have been working on, we would love to hear from you. Unlike traditional slams, the Jesup’s slam is about community, camaraderie and celebrating different types of poetry. It’s not a competition.
