Maine Educational Opportunity Center workshops, The Essentials of College Planning.

University College Rockland, 91 Camden St, on Monday, February 12 at 9 a.m.

WHO WE ARE:
MEOC is funded entirely by the U.S. Department of Education. The program helps qualified adults make the
transition towards a college education. MEOC, which is housed at the University of Maine, provides assistance
to adults living in Maine and helps them go to whichever college or university they choose.

OUR WORK IN ACTION:

MEOC successfully placed 1,073 Maine adults in different colleges last year.
How to Participate
The starting point for all MEOC participants is The Essentials of College Planning, a FREE interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college
process: admissions, financial aid, career planning, and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately 2 – 3 hours. Pre-registration is required.

helps individuals start and expand businesses with five or fewer employees.  The course stresses that good management, effective marketing and financial controls lead to increased profits, and that business planning leads to business growth, profits and personal satisfaction in just seven classes. The following topics will be discussed: Credit, Business Plan, Business Concept, Legal Structures of Business, Marketing, Record Keeping, Financials & Cash Flow, Loans & Grants, and Technology. The classes are frequently augmented with guest speakers from the local business community which allows participants to network with local bankers, accountants, insurance agents, web & media designers, and an array of other experts. Our courses help individuals start and expand businesses with five or fewer employees.
